According to several news sources, George Clooney is not into celebrating Christmas and therefore he probably does not Christmas cards

George Clooney is handsome, funny, and talented but he is not a big believer in celebrating Christmas. Last year George was quoted in US Magazine about his feeling on the Christmas season. He said, “I don’t do a big Christmas thing. I think Christmas, at some point, is for having a bunch of kids, so I just get through the Holidays.” With that attitude, it’s safe to assume he will not be sending Christmas cards this year. Another reason he probably will not be sending Christmas cards is that he isn’t married. It usually is a wife who will tend to that business. So George, if you are reading this I will gladly volunteer to be your wife. Then your card design can be featured on this Celebrity Christmas Cards website.

George spent Christmas of 2006 in Cabo San Lucas with no presents, no Christmas music, not even Holiday decorations! Instead he donated money to charity. According to World Entertainment News Network he explained, “I went down south with a couple of my friends because we said, ‘We’re sick of Christmas.’ Nobody put on Christmas songs and we didn’t celebrate at all. It was nice. Good fun, I recommend it! We had no gifts. We put up a website for all of our buddies and just said, ‘Everybody has everything they want, so what’s your favorite charity? We’ll donate to that.’ It’s a lot easier that way and then you don’t have to shop.”

In recent news, Ellen DeGeneres decided her New Year’s motto would be “George is Mine in ’09.” She worked very hard to get George Clooney on her show. She got help from Brad Pitt; who told Ellen via satellite to get a bunch of Chippendale dancers. Ellen promised, “We’re going to do it and we’re going to say it’s from you.” While Brad wasn’t much help, Noah Wyle advised her to invite former Cincinnati Reds, Johnny Bench and Joe Morgan, on the show. That was the trick that brought George to the Ellen, fulfilling her Christmas dreams.

In other TV news, George appeared on the series finale of ER. He left the show in 1999, and unlike David Caruso, George made it big but not too big to return to TV. During the show’s peak (in the 1995-96 season), ER was the most popular show on television and averaged 32 million viewers a week! With the finale of ER, Christmas cards from County General Hospital will not be a thing of the past.

Quentin Tarantino’s Christmas Cards – Where’s the Bloody Samurai Sword?

What if Quentin Tarantino sent out Christmas cards? Would they be naughty or would they be nice?

What if Quentin Tarantino sent out Christmas cards? Would they be naughty or would they be nice?

Here’s a little celebrity Christmas cards tale for you. Would you believe me if I told you that the Christmas cards Quentin Tarantino sent out last year had a cute little puppy on them? The puppy, with a red and green plaid bow around its neck, was looking up at a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. There were loads of presents spread out beneath the tree including a shiny new bicycle and a red Flexible Flyer sled. In the background, a man sitting on a sofa with his arm wrapped tenderly around his adoring wife, his loafered feet entwined with hers, glances at his wife a knowing smile that makes it almost voyeuristic. Two adorable children, one a toddler reaching for the puppy’s wagging tail and the other displaying the Barbie doll she has just unwrapped round out the characters on his Christmas cards design.

You can’t help but feel something is missing from the design. You search for the dark character; the one with a samurai sword dripping with blood that you know must be in the other room waiting for the right moment to enter this picturesque scene and turn it into a bloodbath. Perhaps he is waiting on the other side of the front door which can be seen at the top left of the card and the bell is about to ring bringing this fairytale to an end. Come on, this is Quentin Tarantino I’m talking about! The cult classic writer-director of Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, and my all-time favorite, Pulp Fiction.

Then you open up the Christmas card figuring what’s inside will be more in character for Quentin and will explain the contradiction of the card design. But the inside simply reads, “Wishing you peace, love and laughter this Christmas and throughout the New Year.” You still don’t get it. The card is signed, QT. Now you are really confused. Are you missing the dark joke?

The truth is, Quentin hates violence and drugs yet his films are always filled with both. Could QT really be an average guy? Why am I disappointed? I myself detest violence in real life yet I love Quentin’s outlandish style of violence in his films. People are judged by their associations but as QT himself once said, “Violent films don’t turn children into violent people. They may turn them into violent filmmakers.” I guess a part of me wants him to be a sick $*&%, but as long as he keeps making sick $*&%@! movies he can be anything he wants to be.

A Christmas Card from a Dog is one of Oprah’s Favorite Things

Oprah donated $10,000 to the Lange Foundation after receiving a Christmas card from a dog that was rescued from that shelter.

While it’s true that celebrity Christmas cards are definite conversation starters, there aren’t many worth a cool ten grand. In fact, I only know of one. No, it wasn’t a 14 karat gold-plated holiday wish, or a diamond-encrusted piece of cardboard (although I can think of a few famous stars who would probably buy Christmas cards with just those features). Actually, the card in question was sent to the celebrity – by a dog!

Who in the world is likely to receive a Christmas card from a non-human friend? None other than Oprah Winfrey. Can I just go on the record as a full-fledged lover of Oprah?!? I grew up watching The Oprah Winfrey Show and have been there through all of the hair styles and clothing trends. I’ve laughed, and I’ve cried. I’ll even confess to having her old-school 1980s theme song as a ring tone on my phone! But enough about me.

Over the years, Oprah has aired many shows about topics that make you stop and think about the world around you. A philanthropist if there ever was one, she has perfected a way to use her super-mogul powers for good, even in the face of naysayers.

Last year, Oprah did a show on puppy mills. You may be aware that the conditions that many dogs live in at some of these mills is atrocious – and if you didn’t know that, seek out this episode, as Lisa Ling takes video cameras to the scene of what can certainly be described as a despicable way to run a business. Dog and animal lovers nationwide listened up when the guests on the show pointed out how much better it is for all involved when someone adopts a pet from a shelter.

Anyway, back to the $10,000 Christmas card. Oprah received what she said was her favorite Christmas card in 2007 – from an old, blind cocker spaniel who had been rescued from a no-kill shelter called The Lange Foundation. This was a true dog’s eye view – written from the perspective of the dog, who would normally get passed over for a healthy, cute puppy but had somehow been lucky enough to be adopted by a kind, caring owner! The adoption was made in honor of Oprah Winfrey, which is not surprising, as she is a long-time dog lover who has owned several cocker spaniels over the years.

Oprah was so moved by the gesture that she donated $10,000 to The Lange Foundation. Now, if that isn’t a celebrity Christmas card worth every penny, I don’t know what is!
